MyPlace, the first and only app to access your Google Map’s saved map and starred places

The Maps app on iPhone and iPad is absolutely gorgeous and useful. But it misses some most important features: you can’t login your Google Maps account and access all your saved maps or starred places.

My Place for Google Map is the first and only app to solve this problem. Download it from App
Store http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/my-place-for-google-map-visit/id492861440?mt=8  , login your Google account, and all your personal map data is there. All your history, saved maps, starred places, even places you rated and checked-in . After a tap,it will launch the Maps app on your iPhone and bring you right to the place. All these places are cached in the app, so it’s blazing fast each time you open it.

The app is free for a limited time after launch.

Microsoft Wants a Share of iOS Gaming, Releases Kinectimals

Microsoft are indirectly declaring that they wanted a share of the name that iOS gaming has built up for itself through the past few years; today they released their game Kinectimals which, evident by the name, was originally sold for Kinect. As you’re posed with taking care of virtual animals in the game, also think about what this means for Microsoft.

Directed mainly at children, unless you’re a grown person with the brain and mindset of a child, the game puts you in charge of taking care of your own virtual tiger cub. Other than the animations, which seem to be pretty nice by the looks of it, the game seems pretty normal. The significance? Just in the past week, Microsoft released three non-game application on the App Store: My Xbox LIVE, Halo Waypoint and an iOS-native Microsoft OneNote. These two along with today’s release show Microsoft clearly wants something out of the iOS App Store, which I’m thinking is revenue. Or maybe they’re admitting that they’ve lost to Apple? Apple Readies iOS 5.0.1 for Public Release

Pretty much since the day of the launch of the iPhone 4S this past October 14th, users reported that they were having problems with the battery life of the device. Rather than posing as an improvement to last year’s iteration of the iPhone, the 4S could barely make it through a regular work day without requiring a charge. Apple recently confirmed the rumors to be true, and shortly after released a beta iOS to developers which claimed to fix the problems.

Apple approves subscription based iPad gaming service

Apple has approved a subscription based iPad gaming service for the first time. Big Fish Games has gained Apple’s approval for its collection of games to be made available to iPad users at a cost of $6.99 a month. Apple introduced its subscription features earlier this year however no other game developer has taken advantage of this business model until now.

When Apple introduced its subscription feature earlier this year, Paul Thelen, the founder of Big Fish, saw it as an opportunity to offer an “all-you-can-eat” service. That lets players jump in and out of different games without having to make a bunch of downloads. While game-subscription services have a mixed record of success, the popularity of the iPad, along with the easy payment method provided by Apple’s App Store, will make the offering attractive, Thelen said. Patintero Playtime for iOS – The spirit of the Filipino traditional game lives on!

Every Filipino child knows Patintero by heart, as it is a fun street game that requires teamwork and agility. Zeenoh, in its third game, relives the Patintero spirit among the youth in its new iOS app entitled “Patintero”. True to its roots, Zeenoh designed this app to tap the hearts of Filipino children who has forgotten the joy of playing street games. Before the advent of technology, children used to play outside with friends with games such as Patintero. Zeenoh aims to reach out to the youth and help them rekindle their love for street games by introducing it as an iOS app.

In the game, Grandfather Amihan teaches users how to play Patintero digitally. The tutorial establishes the setting of the game, involving two teams and a grid. The two teams are the players and the taggers. The goal of the game is simple: for the player team to pass through the other end of the grid. Read more »
